Last year, I enviously followed the tweets from @mrschureads from the 7th Annual Young Adult Literature Conference. This year, the Solon crew took a road trip (on our own dime) - for a fantastic day of everything books.

@taolibrarian, @bigbookgirl and @scsdmedia
Somehow we all ended up wearing purple!

I got to meet Paul Valponi. I booktalk his "Hurricane Song" pairing it up with Dave Egger's "Zeitoun".
@jeanine cummins, author of "A Rip in Heaven". She spoke about her surprise at becoming an author read and loved by YAs.

"Theodore Boone: The Abduction" performed by the hilarious Story Pirates.

@tinaspringer ("My Fake Boyfriend is Better Than Yours) and Franny Billingsley (Chime)

Elizabeth Scott ("Living Dead Girl"), @sarahdarerlitt ("Purge") and @jeaninecummins ("A Rip in Heaven")
Check out the date. After the conference, we actually took our Anderson Bookshop SHS and SMS purchases and cataloged them in our hotel room using our wonderful new web accessible catalog - Destiny! (And of course, we all read before lights out).

It was a great weekend of conversation, inspiration, reading and books.
