I spent the last 3 days embedded in @limecooler's Technical Writing class.

Day 1,  we discussed Personal Learning Networks and used iGoogle and Google Reader to set up RSS feeds.

Day 2, we looked at social media and how it affects our digital footprints

Today we wrapped up by looking at blogging as a form of writing. @smghogan from Source Media Group shared his experiences with traditional print newspapers and blogs via Skype and our principal @nathan_wear stopped by to illustrate to the students the power of the PLN and the remind them of the importance of maintaining a respectful digital profile.

I was surprised at how few students maintain their own blogs or even follow blogs. It will be interesting to check in on them the next few weeks to see if they continue to personalize their own learning spaces.
