This week, I am walking with the 3rd graders over to the public library, which is just a couple blocks away. To celebrate National Poetry Month, they are hosting a fabulous window display honoring Emily Dickinson. Prior to the visit, students created slides using photographs of the display highlighting particular elements and the slide show is in constant rotation on a table near the display so that library patrons can enjoy their digital art work and poetry.
The first thing they wanted to do was find "their" special part of the display and then they played the "I Spy" game posted for everyone to see.
Yesterday we postponed our walk because it was raining, but today was a gorgeous, sunny day.
